This has become one of my favorite shirts: Fear Is A Liar. To be honest, I feel very confident and bold when I wear it. However, at times I can and do feel the opposite of this truth. I had Bethel Music playing on my laptop while having my Bible open before me last night. Sitting on my bed, pondering a current circumstance that is beyond my control, I once again asked God, “Just what do you want me to do?” There’s something about having the Word of God open before you: immediately I felt God say to me,” Remember Peter walking on water?” I flipped over to Matthew and read the story of Jesus walking on water to His disciples. As Peter began to walk on the water, keeping his eyes on Jesus, everything was okay. But once he took his eyes off of Him, he began to sink. And of course, Jesus stretched out His hand to Peter and kept him safe. The words of Jesus were,” Where is your faith? Why did you doubt?” Such conviction took over my heart in that moment. Fear tells us to panic, run away and save yourself, while Faith tells you to walk on water.
